Happy Mothers Day to all the fish moms out there! Its been a busy couple of weeks since my last post to say the least. We have reached max capacity as far as aquariums go and have to manage our resources effectively to avoid overstocking issues. This is a good thing I suppose since the fish are breeding consistently and providing a regular flow of young to raise.  Our discus are still proving a challenge with several pair eating eggs. Last week we received our discus pairs with no issues. All of the pairs acclimated nicely and we even had one pair lay eggs. Unfortunately, after 2 days they ate them all. This happens quite a bit and I have found that most of my other pair of discus eat the eggs or wigglers the first 3 or 4 times they lay eggs. After that, they usually get the hang of it and start raising babies. I have posted a picture of the female blue diamond discus below. She did a great job at laying and fanning eggs. Not sure...

Sunday Fishroom Post 3.31.19

Well, this week we received our young Blue Diamond discus. They range in size from 2-3 inches and are currently in a quarantine tank. In a couple weeks, we will transfer them to a 55 gallon grow out tank. Already showing some nice blue color. Unfortunately, UPS messed up the shipping of our Blue Diamond and Red Turquoise Pairs. If all goes well this week, they will arrive on Thursday. Keeping my fingers crossed as its always difficult to ship adult discus. In addition to the discus, we have ordered some new guppy strains to add to our existing strains....
