Brine Shrimp Hatching Instructions

To hatch your brine shrimp eggs, we recommend mixing 1/2 to 3/4 cup of sea salt or non-iodized table salt to 1 gallon of water. A clean, rinsed 1 gallon milk container is great for mixing the salt water and storing for future use. Once your salt water is prepared, add it to a container with an air supply to keep the eggs in motion. We do not recommend using an airstone as the small bubbles will cause your brine shrimp eggs to collect above the water level. Instead, simply use an air hose with no air stone. Last, add a small amount of brine shrimp eggs to the water. The amount of eggs will vary depending on how many fish you need to feed. The baby brine shrimp will hatch in 24-36 hours depending on the temperature of the water. The higher the temperature, the faster the hatch.
